Relation Between Osteoporosis & Effects Of Weight Loss
Time when muscles and bones tend to get fragile and soften
Osteoporosis is a disease that is known for its low bone mass and loss of bone tissue that may eventually lead to weak and fragile bones. Person having osteoporosis is having more risk of fractured bones particularly in the area of hip, spine and wrist.
Osteoporosis is mainly associated with orderly man and woman because of the fact as the age increases the bones tends to be more soft and fragile in nature however it is also seen that the osteoporosis begins much earlier in life as the peak bone density starts at approximately around the age of 25.
For making the bones stronger it is recommended to have sufficient amount of calcium and make it a part of your daily dose. It mainly occurs when there is a imbalance between the new bone formation and old bone resorption which clearly means body is not able to make new bone and too much of old bone cannot be reabsorbed. It is been found that the essential minerals for formation or survival of bones are calcium and phosphate and if any one mineral is found to be insufficient in the normal diet individual is having it directly affects the bone production and subsequently bone tissue may suffer.
Usually it is seen that the process of loss of bone takes a very long period of time and in the initial stage individual sustain a fracture and by the time he tends to realize the disease has gone to its advanced stage. The main cause of osteoporosis is a deficiency of certain hormones such as estrogen in women and androgen in men other factors which also contribute to this disease is the inadequate intake of vitamin D , lack of weight bearing exercise and other related changes in endocrine functions.
The symptoms of the osteoporosis is not fully known but it is observed that it may cause dull pain in the bones or muscles specially having low back pain or neck pain however it may also noticed that series of sharp pain may also come up suddenly and made worse by the activity of putting weight on that area.
By observing osteoporosis in an individual a doctor may normally begin with a care and firstly check the family history means if any one in the family is gone through osteoporosis or a history of previous broken bones. Based on a medical examination the doctor may also recommend a specialized test normally called a bone mineral density that measure the bone density in various sites of the body
